Jana & Kyle

Jana and Kyle were married on October 24, 2009 in Austin, TX. Jana was radiant, Kyle was sweet, and the good feelings from their friends and family were all around. I really like the bride and groom 'first look' shots and I had fun taking advantage of the late October light that was both warm and soft. The ceremony shots really capture the palpable love between these two, and I'm pretty sure you'll agree that the reception shows that they know how to party. There were great details: Jana had two dresses, an elegant lace dress for the ceremony, and a stylish cocktail dress for the reception; Jana's mother crafted some barbie dolls with wedding dresses that were identical to Jana's; and they had the cutest (and most delicious) little cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. One of my favorite moments involved a special dance for married couples where everyone starts off on the dance floor, and then one by one couples leave based on how long they've been married. Usually these dances wind up with a face-off between two sets of grandparents who've been married for over 50 years, but this one was a little different. Kyle's paternal Grandfather had recently passed away, and one by one Kyle and all of his uncles and male cousins took turns dancing with with his grandmother. Eventually she and one of her sons were left on the dance floor in celebration of her 50+ year marriage, and when it was over the whole family enfolded her in a giant hug. It was a powerful reminder of what two people can create together over the course of their lives. Be sure to scroll down to the end of the post to see some of Zach's great shots from the day. Needless to say, I loved every moment of working on this wedding and working with this awesome couple. Congratulations to Jana and Kyle!
